WHAT IS THE ACHIEVEMENT GAP?

  • There is a significant gap between the grades and dropout rates of BIPOC students and the grades and graduation rates of white students.

  • ​The factors contributing to this gap are:

    • Socioeconomic status

    • Quality of education in marginalized communities

    • Support system at home

    • Lack of role models within the community

    • Lack of opportunities in enhancing/reinforcement of knowledge

WHAT CAN WE DO?

Our Workshops :

  • Offered for students in grades 5-7

  • Introduce concepts from diverse categories of STEM

  • Volunteers mentor and monitor students progress

Our Mentorship Program:

  • Enables 8th graders and high school students lead students through the hands on experiments and concepts.
